how do the bots work it scares me...
So a few days ago im walking through Kamadan looking to sell some runes to the merch after a spider farm (any better ways to earn money with w/rt let me know plz) and having just earned about 20k after the farming some tiny monk walked up to me and filled the trade panel with unid golds. so i said go away it said buy im like if you go away so i bought about 30 of the unids for 10ish k. then it comes back with 14 shields once again i was like why not help the guy out. plus i wanted the golds for my title then i told it i was broke and swapped districts. it followed me somehow (no i didnt enter party search) and it offers even more stuff so i bought it. god no wonder i never have seen more than 50k at once. so anyway how do they know to come to me even when im not posting ina dis and how do they always come up with these responses. btw i started swearing at it calling it a stupid bot and such and after i finished its like 7 for xk lol. well does anyone have any insight on this as. "your a gullable noob!" , "just close chat and walk away", or one of my favs that i have seen before "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB!" but seriously any tips on making money avoiding bots and restraint techniques so i stop blowing all my money away in order to save for gwen.
also who thinks diamonds will be the new ecto when gwen is out im thinking itll be in atleast asura armor maybe ebon aswell. edit: forgot to add how do i change my title under my name i kinda like getting higher ranks so is there a link to where i can see a list of them atm im a squire. The bots only farm as far as I know, a real person does the trading. You took the bait with the first trade so he reeled you in.

1g. Submit. Accept.
From time to time you get someone to accept it. |

You always have the defense I offered a price, he accepted it its what people don't get. I can sell a Totem axe for 100k +50 ecto I'm offering a price, if player B pay that price its not a scam. Sure player B is stupid but its not a scam. It just a really one sided trade. But anyway back to point, there real people working for gold selling sites or real players doing Chest runs and selling the items. |

To answer the core question of the OP:
A single human gold/item farmer controls multiple bots. Several will be working while some will be advertising the ill gotten gains. When you accept the offer of one bot, the bot controller will note your name as someone interested in purchasing a specific type of item. Like, if you accept unidentified gold items, the guy will assume you are working on the title and will then offer you more unidentified gold items. Essentially, you were trading with the same guy (or enterprise, these things often have several employees), just under different names. |

When he mentioned you being banned, he's referring to the people who got banned for buying massive amounts of armbraces for free/cheap. ANET will assume the golds are duped or something if you get a bunch of golds for nothing
However I don't think it'd be an issue unless you somehow got hundreds of the unids from the same person for 1g. |

Apparently some bots can actually trade.... and are stupid enough that you can submit a few platinum to them... then change the trade to nothing and submit + accept, and they'll accept it too....
Serves the botters right. |

While I was visiting merchant in Altrumm Ruins I wondered what would happen if I would click on the random (Chinese, I guess) guildless name and offer 1 gold.. I offered it, and person offered 2 gold, and he accepted. I offered 3, he offered 4 gp, and accepted... I offered 1k and he left |
